Since so MANY of you do not get the story, I shall do a short analysis on it.
Match: Bring up the exciting and fast-moving atmosphere. Show David's ability,adaptibility and determination.
Introduction of parents: Clues that the parents are agents.
Appearance of Rachel: Introduction of her in chapter 4.
Tea at Scott's house: Chance to reveal David's family wealth to readers. Give a clue that the parents are agents again.
David's parents mission: Showcase how well-trained they are. Giving the biggest clue that the parents are agent.
Assassination of the parents: Discussed again in chapter 2 and 4.
May not have really brought out the effect but I tried...
